Crown Royal On Ice.....

I'm giving up on the single life. Im ready to settle down and begin my journey with my strong, BLACK MAN.
My friends say it's bullshit, I say it's real shit.
So one day I was so bored at work that I typed exactly what I'm looking for in my dream husband/boyfriend. And that list in no particular order
1. Trustworthy
2.God-Fearing/ Christian
3.Hard-Working
4.Goal Oriented
5.Faithful
6.Headstrong
7.Honest
8.Respectful
9.Nice Teeth
10.No Children

Is that too much to ask for?
And he's got to be smooth like Crown Royal on Ice.

Oh Where Is D'angelo?????

D'angelo, one of the best musicians of all times has not put out a album in nearly 10
years. I thought he was the sexiest man alive but his talent surpassed his looks. He was a brilliant composer and produced most of his own music.
I would have to say that I cant think of one favorite song so I will give to two.
1. The Root- Cause I'd like to think I have it...
2. Me and Those Dreamin Eyes of Mine

Old School: Angela Winbush: Treat U Right

This was the first cd I purchased, Angela Winbush's Treat U Right single. At the time I was probably like 10 or 11 and my allowance weekly was $2.00 so I only had enough to buy the single..(lol)!!
Most people know Angela Winbush from being married to Ronald Isley (Mr. Biggs) however, Ms. Winbush is a icon whose name is rarely mentioned but yet she paved the way for many artists today. Here are a few of my favorite songs by Ms Winbush.....
-check out whose singing background vocals for her..

Jahi Featuring Dwele: On My Own

Vikter Duplaix:Bold & Beautiful

I purchased this album last summer and I love it! You may have heard his single Make a Baby, but it's so much more to this album. Songs like In The Middle of You and For Life are sure to make you a Vikter Duplaix fan.
Matter fact just watch and listen......

ATL's New HotSpot

Contrary to popular belief, Atlanta nightlife is not at all like it used to be. It seems like every week a club is being closed so it's a challenge to find places to party. Although Cru Urban Lounge is relatively new, its a cool place to chill. It's actually a residential loft and its small but cozy and comfortable. My homegirl Jo and I just love it. It's perfect for a date.

Live DJ's spin 6 nights a week. Beautiful blends of Acid Jazz, Indy Hip Hop, Neo Soul, Funk, Electro, and House music fills the air, with cool people with great conversation. Not to mention the Strawberry Mojito is Faboulous!!!

Q Tip_Comeback?

This is a recent performance of Q Tip of A Tribe Called Quest at Jimmy Kimmel Live in NY doing a world premiere of his new joints Work It Out and Fever. And for yall old headz, a lil Electric Relaxation......

Erykah Badu's highly anticipated album New Amerykah is coming February 26th and is sure to be a banger!! ( I hope)..... With all of her touring I haven't seen too much of her. Her latest single Honey is a bit too commercial for me but we shall see.

Artist Spotlight :Janita: Seasons of Life

So I was strolling around my favorite spot in L5, contemplating on going natural and selling dreams to the hairstylist (cuz I need my perm!!!), i couldn't help but wonder who was that voice on the song. So I strolled around to my favorite music store Moods Music in L5 and asked about that lovely voice.

Her name is Janita. The album is entitled Seasons of Life and its great. Before I saw the album cover I assumed she was black which is just ignorance at its best considering the fact that all nationalities have soul....(hmm, lets think about that, shall we?...lol) but she is indeed Swedish and her voice is amazing. Her voice is a mixture between Natalie Bedingfield and Lauryn Hill. And I get hella flack for this but I'm not really a Lauryn Hill fan with the exception of a few songs but in my opinion Seasons of Life gives The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill much comp.

What do you think?

Nick R_A&R_Music Connoissuer and Much More

My lil homie Nick R is making quite a name for himself.I met him in high school and he told me that he wanted to be a politician but his love for music was undeniable. He is a political science major at Georgia Southern University. He scored a intern position with Purple Ribbon and has had the pleasure of working with artists such as Janelle Monae and Killer Mike to name a few. With such a promising future ahead, Nick R. is the next Kevin Liles. Be on the lookout!!!

Style: Keyshia Cole: Love it OR Hate It?

First off let me start by saying I'm am not a big fan of Keyshia Cole however I can't deny that she is very talented. Although many people don't like her sense of style and we all make mistakes but I LOVE THIS ENSAMBLE! As much as I hate your attitude, I gotta give it to you Keyshia!!

Ladies and Gentlemen......DWELE

Dwele and I at his Listening Party @ The Apache You may have heard him on Kanye's hottest track on the Graduation album Flashing Lights or Common's The People but Dwele is not a new artist. His latest LP Some Kinda is my favorite CD ever and Dwele is my favorite singer. His voice is so calming with his harmonizing melodies and he is Eye Candy for the ladies. I got a chance to meet him at his listening party with my Homegirl Delaney and he is so humble and down to earth. If you don't have Some Kinda, its in stores now and you need to go get that Quick! My fave song on the album is the title track, Some Kinda discusses his life and the untimely death of his father. Here are a few tracks off the album.....

Shout Out to my tattoo artist Tuki! I was browsing on his Myspace page and he is a member of a band named HollyWeered. That Weerdo Joint is
crazy!!

Ledisi: Lost and Found

I wasn't to familiar with Ledisi. I heard some of her music on Hot Ice on 91.9 a few times but after a trip to my favorite music store Moods Music in L5 I was sold. She has been compared to Nina Simone and Chaka Khan which makes her appeal to a broader audience. Her latest Single In The Morning is my favorite song on the album. Everyone that I play her CD to loves it.
